Our white foam plates, white laminated foam plates, white disposable plastic plates, and our foodtrays (AKA kantleak boats) are our most economical solutions for large crowds no matter what the event. For a less institutional or more festive look, we always recommend using them with 2-ply color napkins, found under NAPKINS/2-ply Bulk. They are just a little more expensive than plain white which can be found under NAPKINS/Industrial. If you compare pricing, note that our laminated foam plates are much stonger than unlaminated and a little more expensive. Hi everyone,

From time to time we get into an overstock situation or need to make room in our warehouse for some fantastic new item that I just must have. Or sometimes I even make an error and buy too much (don't tell Robert I admitted it) and so we usually just put a big SALE sign up in our Cash&Carry in Coconut Grove until we sell it out.

However, recently I have been getting emails from our online customers asking if we had anything on sale and so I have added this section.
 
Take a look and see if you can benefit from my "over enthusiasm" but note that we are selling these items in the Cash&Carry and on the site, that our inventory does not update but once a day and so we may be out of stock ( I should be so lucky) although the site will still say "in stock".

Transporting food pans?
To make transporting food for first plates less worrisome, and if you need to keep the contents of the pans hot or cold, I recommend your investing in the ThermalCor Insulated Carriers. It maintains food temperature for hours, is lightweight, stacks best, stores flat and can be wiped down and reused at least 30 times. 

The large size holds 2 full size or 4 half size steamtable pans.
The small size holds 1 full size or 2 half size steamtable pans.

For a unique wedding presentation the newest wedding decorating idea are disposable Toppers.

This product line is fantastic!

I have been seeing this product line at trade shows for a year or so and have hesitated to buy them.They look exactly like expensive Organdy Toppers, I am not exaggerating! I have hesitated to bring them in, not because I have not been completely won over by the amazing disposable presentations they make, but because.....they are not made in America and they are a little pricey if you are covering a room full of tables. To make them more affordable we include a white Olfin liner free 

If you want to use a dark color liner any of our Like Linen products look beautiful under the Toppers too...it just makes the presentation a bit more expensive.*

You can also use these Toppers over a real linen table cover and I promise you everyone will think it is the real thing! Some customers are also reselling the Toppers on Ebay as they can be hand washed and ironed as long as you put a piece of cotton cloth between the iron and the Topper.

With that said, I decided to try them for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Christmas weddings as I thought that the extra dollars spent on one or two for a family dinner would not break the bank and Brides, Event Planners and Caterers might use them for accessory tables...maybe even just the dessert table. THEY SOLD OUT!

Then Univision's Despierta America called and ask me to do a live presentation so I have begun bringing in the patterns I used for them and patterns for every taste, color story and every occassion. If you need something in a color I do not show email me as I can get things made in many different colors as long as you buy the case which is only 5 pieces of a size. The top photo (taken on the set of Despierta America) shows you how unbelievably authentic the Toppers look, but, I think I had better explain each of the sample photos I have offered here.

First, what make these look incrediably real, and that you can not see on the sample photos, is that each one has a finished sewn edge which adds body to the fabric...I mean material and contributes to fooling the eye.

A-Venetian Creme and Gold: Here I show this design over a cream colored liner. However, it also looks great over a white liner. It maybe even look good over any color but I have not tried it personally. It also comes in black and gold and is outstanding in a burnt orange and gold for a fall event, but I do not stock these so they need to be bought in units of 5.
B-Blue Florence : This is a show stopper and will turn any room into an extravaganza. I always use a white liner. I like it with silver accessories and lots of whites. For Univision I used lime green as an accessory color but any bright color would work...hot pink, orange etc.
C-Daisies on Pink: Perfect for a Wedding Brunch, Bridal Shower, Quince or Baby Shower. It also comes on a lavender backround but needs to be special ordered in units of 5 as I do not stock it. The green in the design can work with sages, light greens, even some limes. In my Univision presentation I used all those greens in my crafts and centerpiece container.
D-Tobacco Olive Branch: This is gorgeous over a creme liner. I did an inspiration table in our warehouse cash and carry in Coconut Grove for Thanksgiving and people were fighting over them. For fall events this pattern in this color is sure to create a stir and surprise and delight your guests. It can be special ordered in gold but needs to be ordered in increments of 5 as I only stock it this way and (next) white on white.
E-Olive Branch White on White: I show it over a grey liner, however it also looks good over any color....dark colors and pastels as well. For the Univision presentation I used it over a creme liner and it has become my favorite. It is rich and elegant and will fool all but the most educated eye. I know I keep promising but I am telling you this makes a fabulous presentation.
F-Petite Flowers: You can't tell that this is a white flower on a pink backround, which is what I stock, because I had to use a dark liner so you could see the pattern, however for my inspiration table I use it over a white liner and the pink does show quite well and transforms the room. It can be special ordered in units of 5 in a sweet yellow or lavender. I have sold it for Brunches, Tea Parties and Baby Showers (yellow for unisex or baby boys). The dark hot pink liner, I used to make the pattern visable, makes me think Petite Flowers can also be used over some other darker colors but I have not tried a room full of the pattern over anything but a white liner.

Do it yourself centerpiece for "wedding receptions on a budget" !

These professional risers allows anyone to create an "over the top" dramatic centerpiece. Here, my assignment was to create an ornate formal show stopper from items bought on sale from a local floral distributor for a friend on a very tight budget. I think I got the job done.

We carry a nice variety of disposable aluminum baking pans here on the site, however, if you don't see what you need email Robert and he will source it for you.
We do, however, carry a wider variety of product in our CASH&CARRY in Coconut Grove and we may have just what you are looking for sitting on a shelf.

Robert rarely bakes but he uses the 2lb. loaf pan for meat loaf, and the 1/4 sheet pan for roasting vegetables. Our kids (all grown up, thank goodness) think his best use of any size aluminum pan are his brownies, which recipe calls for at least 2ozs. of chocolate liquor!

Baking for a Wedding?

Don't miss looking at our new line of decorative filigree cupcake outfits . Admittedly they are very expensive...but they are divine!


Baking is not Robert's specialty but his cupcake size brownies (he uses the 5" bake cups) are fantastic. I use the 6" for finger bowls with a lemon wedge wrapped in a piece of cheese cloth, found under FOOD SERVICE/Supplies Misc., and tied with a pretty ribbon.  That's about the limit or our personal experience with this product line, other than we have been buying from the same vendors for 25 years and our CASH&CARRY customers travel over county lines for this selection.

Pink or not !

Our CASH&CARRY in Coconut Grove has many customers/Bakers that work from home. They make their specialties, such as carrot cakes, cheese cakes, cookies and pies of every kind for local high-end restaurants. These artists stop by once a week to pick up just what they need.

Here on the web we also sell our bakery boxes and corrugated circles, found under BAKERY/Corrugated, by the each, so that the small entrepreneur can deliver a professional presentation without having to keep an inventory of assorted size bales on hand.

These lucky "Pajama Bakers" just pop on their label, add a doilie found under FOOD SERVICE/Doilies, tie on their signature color ribbon and compete with any of the commercial bakeries here in Miami.

Caterers use bakery boxes to transport product to an event.

Brides use bakery boxes to take home the top layer of their cake, and to provide a container for guests to take home slices of their cake. Pre-packaged with a coordinating ribbon and a surprise thank you note = a detail long remembered and appreciated by any guest who was too full and guilty to really enjoy the cake the night before.

At cateringsupplies.com, as well as in our CASH&CARRY in Florida, we allow our customers to cater to their customers by selling these corrugated items by the piece.   One homebased baker, that comes to mind, buys the plain 10" circles for his restaurant customer who serves his cake by the slice out of the kitchen and also buys the 10" frilled circle for another customer who displays desserts as you enter their restaurant and so needs a tempting presentation.

For us it's all about allowing you to customize your presentation without your having to invest in full cases of product and tying up your money (to say nothing about the space it takes to store full cases). A helpful hint is to use a corregated circle as a serving tray, just pop a doilie on it, found under FOOD SERVICE/Doilie and transport it in a baker box, found under BAKERY/Boxes.

Cup Cake Tree

Use this fabulous, versatile display stand for appetizers, tea sandwiches, desserts and don't forget cupcakes. It is perfect for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, or just for fun for any venue.

The cupcaketree was designed by a structural engineer specifically to bear the weight of hundreds of desserts or appetizers. The Cupcaketree features a slot and groove truss structure which evenly distributes the weight allowing you to place as many cupcakes as you can fit in the tiers.

The top tier can be used for any number of decorations such as floral arrangements and small cakes. It can handle up to 5lbs

LARGE CUPCAKE TREE *
The large tree is 21 " high
It holds 250 cupcakes as you see it, if you use all the tiers. You do not have to. Layers can be left out as long as they are in succession. You can leave out the top two etc....oh, you can also leave off the top and the bottom so there goes my fancy word succession. You can not leave out the middle one.

The photos I have displaying the Cupcake Tree here, and under Servingware, do not in my opinion maximize their potential. With a little bit more attention to masking the infrastructure I think the art of your presentation would be long remembered.

HINT: think about giving the bride a bakery box with your personal hand written best wishes on it to freeze the top of her cake in. Over wrap it with film so that a year from now her cake is fresh as will be her memory of you. It will cost you practically nothing, solves her problem and possibly gets you a referral.

Think outside the container!

These containers were originally brought in as an upscale bakery box, however, our CASH&CARRY warehouse customers use them for a multitude of purposes.  Upside down they are great for transporting and serving salad, bread and rolls, cut fruit, cookies and more. Luncheonettes use them as counter displays filled with muffins and other baked goods, as well as for testing new items before purchasing costly display cases.

Wedding cake take home boxes !

This is a charming way to provide your clients with a way for their guests to take home a piece of your cake. Usually cut from a sheet cake made to mimic the actual wedding cake, the "cake slice " can be delivered to each table, offered at the cake buffet, or set up at the exit on a pretty dressed table.

Each assembled cake  measures 13" by 8" high. Each slice measures.....and holds a 1 " by ..........slice

Don't hesitate to rubber stamp your shop's name and telephone number on the bottom of each "slice".

The bottom level is for Scones and Muffins. I think one could substitue any bread product one would enjoy with assorted Jams and Clotted Cream. (East coast and west coast can add some bagels... cream cheese on the side)

The layers above is for crustless Sandwiches, or minitures i.e. Quiches, Empandas, Eggrolls or even 3 bite size Po-boys will work.

The top layers are for the good stuff, Petitfours, brownies, marzapan, dipped strawberries, miniture Flan, anything that is no more than 2 bites big.

Outfits for Cupcakes ? 

Some call them Cupcake Wrappers.... but whatever they are called.... everyone calls them exquisite! They come flat, hook and stay closed, to kick up your cupcake presentation. The Outfits are worn over the cupcake's paper bakecups, that they are baked in, and come in all different themes and colors.

 Note that most patterns are die cut just at the top, however, Ivy Filigree (pictured by itself on top) and Butterfly are completely die cut all over.

Green, Eco- Friendly Cutlery

I have to admit that while I love the Veneerware plates, the cutlery (while very nice looking and functional) always reminds me of the little spoon that came wrapped in white paper with my Ice Cream Cup from the Good Humor truck. A very nice memory but I don't love them like I do the plates for almost any event. They do have a place but not for any formal event.

Plastic Glasses for all occasions!

These hard clear fancy cups or plastic glasses are a little more expensive, and a little more luxurious looking for weddings and high end events. all the brands we carry, WNA's Prestige (fluted and starting from the left) and Classicware (we are missing the wine glass photo) and Berry's Opulance and Legacy (with an engraved design) come in all the best sizes and shapes. The Newberry flute, made by the Maryland companys, though a two piece construction (snaps and locks together) is in my opinion the number one best looking flute produced...not even Stuben or Lalique offere one prettier.

The champagne glass flute has become very popular and, though expensive, definitely makes a champagne toast more festive. They can be used for champagne a fancy dessert or first plate,  and I think that even if you use a less expensive plain cup for drinks and soda you can entertain your guests with this little luxury.

These clear plain plastic cups, perfect for any wedding or event, are made of hard plastic and are moderately priced. They look very nice in any setting and come in many sizes.
 
The classically shaped wine and champagne cups come in two pieces, but we also carry one piece disposable wine glasses, including the squarish looking glasses, which we think are interesting and make a nice presentations for first plate fruit cup and/or a fancy dessert. However, the disposable show stopper is the Duni 8oz.1pc. wine glass (4th photo down) that looks so real on the table that people are surprised when they pick them up.

These cheap plastic cups are great for BBQ's

These sturdy plastic clear soft plastic cups are very practical. They come in every size, are relatively inexpensive, won't crack, look good, and are great for poolside parties.   This is the cup to use for children and teenage parties. Solo dispenser cups - some people can't live without them!

Mr. Holtzman, the founder of Solo Cup Company, was our salesman in 1951 and invented the "V" or dispenser cup. Harold, Robert's dad, bought from one of the first production runs. Not much to be said about foam cups except that these are Dart's, the lids fit tight, cold drinks don't sweat and they are inexpensive. Over the years we have found that the 8oz. cup is the most popular for coffee.

Cups for hot liquids

Use these cups, or hot cups as they are sometimes called, for coffee, tea, punch or soup...YES, soup. Our CASH&CARRY in Coconut Grove sells the plastic handled cups for soup to one of South Florida's department stores for their holiday employee buffet. They tie a piece of hunter green velvet ribbon on the handle, stand a piece of celery in the cup and dress an entire table inexpensively.

The paper insulated 6oz. and 8oz. handled cups come in white only, the 8oz. have lids. The paper insulated 9oz. hot/cold cups work well for any hot, as well as cold beverages. They match our PLATES/Paper, NAPKINS/3-Ply and CUTLERY/Colors exactly.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that the exact same color used on different materials will sometimes look slightly different. For a less expensive solution to serving hot drinks look at our CUPS/Foam.  And, yes, we carry the insert, but no we don't stock the holder. Holders can be special ordered in different colors but only by the case (12)

Plastic cups in colors.

We carry three sizes of solid colored plastic cups  - 9oz. squat, 12oz. and 16oz.  However, the 9oz. squat is from a different vendor than the 12oz. and 16oz. The colors match our plastic plates but the inside of the 9oz. is white.

The plastic Martini glasses, plastic Margarita glasses, and assorted specialty glasses we discover work for any event. These specialty cups represent our attempt to continually search out what the market has to offer in interesting disposable products.

Remember, we said interesting not inexpensive! An example are our gold rimmed and solid gold/silver glasses which mimic the "good" stuff. In our Coconut Grove CASH&CARRY we have a customer who buys cases of these cups every year for his associates Christmas party. We could never figure out why he spent so much money on cups, so one year we asked and he said, "it's about going over the top to show my appreciation and delight them". We do feel they are a bit costly for larger parties but appropriate and elegant for a "very small" presentation, or maybe for a customer who is not sure about using disposables at all.

We sell these solid colored 16oz. fluted stadium plastic cups to different kinds of customers. Customer #one is serving men, usually beer, and wants a disposable but a more impressive presentation. Customer #two is putting this cup into a cellophane bag to hold party favors. Customer #3 wants it screen printed. The minumum order for screen printing the cups is 100 pieces at around $1.00 each (available in many more colors), less if you order more, more if you need them in a hurry! In any case, the cups are made of heavy polypropylene plastic and are almost too good to throw away.

Perfect if you need bulk party supplies or cheap plastic cups

These translucent plastic cups are the least expensive cup solution without going to foam. We call this cup "the invisable cup". They come in every size and are perfect for large groups. Translucent Cups may not be the prettiest but they work for bbq's, fundraising or charity events, since conserving every penny for the "cause" is what counts and after a while no one notices the cups...they become "invisible". It is a great cup in the 7oz. size for small children as it's easy to hold and doesn't hold a lot to spill. Most importantly, beer drinkers love the 16oz. size.  Also for slightly nicer but still cheap plastic cups look at our Clear Soft Plastic cups.

Planning a wedding?

EXCITING NEWS We now have 120" round table covers, but that isn't the best part, ALL of these are now available in black.

Disposable chair covers FINALLY!

Never ever rent expensive chair covers again. We sell Chair Covers cheap but not cheap chair covers.
These lovely 100% Olfin chair covers only come in white and come with a free white sash for a crisp bow, however you can buy sashes in your events color (colors pictured below) and kick up the presentation to a high chic level.

NOTE: THE POLYESTER COLORED SASH COST EXTRA! WHITE OLFIN IS FREE AND COMES WITH THE CHAIR COVER.

No one will believe these are disposable....oh and actually they are not so disposable. If it rains you can wipe them down with a dry towel, and if you spill red wine on them you can dab some water on the stain and the cover will dry like new. If you are thinking these must be plastic they are not. You can even wash them in a machine, take them out and shake them off and they will dry to be used again. As these disposable chair covers are a new product the word is not in on how many times they can be washed.... but I will keep you informed as word comes in (like under Re-usable table covers).

Also I have had some very detailed customers concerned about the wrinkles in the covers from being folded to ship and I wanted to address the situation. First, no one is going to be focused on some wrinkles in the chair covers when they walk into your beautiful presentation, but if you are concerned one can iron the covers by experimenting a little with your own household iron. To solve the issue I took some home and I set my iron on a pretty high steam setting, put a thin piece of cotton cloth between the iron and the covers and the wrinkles and folds came right out....maybe you might want to do this just down the back where a fold might show...but please relax, the covers are great looking and a million times nicer than an uncovered chair. Second, rented chair covers come folded and have very similar folds that are going to have the same issues as ours, I promise you!

We will gladly send swatches of the material, but if you want to see the whole cover you will need to buy one as we can not afford to send one out as a free sample.

Though the chair cover does come with a white self matching bow, as you can see in the 2nd and 3rd photos....I think they bring the presentation down and that you should splurge on the polyester Sashes we offer at a very low price, or shop for real ribbon.

We offer fits for standard folding chairs and standard banquet chairs. However, if you’re ordering for banquet chairs really make sure they are standard size.

This brilliant manufacturer also offers a great matching banquet skirt and table covers. The table covers only come in white but the 96" round gives you an 18" drop on a 60" table...the biggest offered in the industry at this pricing and the banquet size is also inches more generous than is available anywhere near this pricing.

When I do a presentation I usually use one of my imported Toppers on top of these cloths and the whole effect beats all but the highest and most extravagant, over the top, unaffordable -unless your last name is Hilton or Winfrey- presentation you dream of.

A great wedding product these chafing stands makes self catering easy!

Our disposable chafing stands come in two sizes, some colors, and are too good to dispose of. If you take reasonable care of them, and don't leave them behind on the job, they should last a long time.

Even if it's not a large event we suggest you buy the full size chafing stand as it offers more flexibility. You can always put two or three different items in the full size stand by using two half size steam table (stm.tbl.) pans or one half size and two one third sizes (not pictured), instead of one full size pan. But just keep in mind that if you are trying to fill up a space, using a number of half size chafing stands gives a fuller illusion.

In either case, we always recommend buying two food pans for each item you are serving so that you can bring out a full pan and take away the less than full pan to be re-filled in the kitchen...it just looks nicer.

You will only need one water pan per Chafing stand, even if you use two half (or one half and two one thirds ) size food pans in the full size stand.

Remember, always heat the water on the stove FIRST, as it saves a lot of time. You might want to assign someone the duty of checking to see that your water pans are full at all times as clients hate scorched food!

Transportation Problems?
To make transporting food less worrisome, we suggest the investment of lids (reusable) for your food pans. But, if you need to keep the contents of the pans hot or cold, I recommend your investing in the ThermalCor Insulated Carriers. It maintains food temperature for hours, is lightweight, stacks better, stores flat and can be wiped down and reused at least 30 times. 

The large size holds 2 full size or 4 half size steamtable pans.
The small size holds 1 full size or 2 half size steamtable pans.
Both sizes have foam center insulation and are covered inside and outside with Reflective Radiant barrier.

STERNO... Just bring extras. One never knows when an event will start late and, don't forget to communicate to your staff where you are storing the tops so they will be handy to partially cover the sterno if you need to lower the heat.

I hate to make my Mother right, but, everything does look so much nicer with a pretty doilie. A doilie gives any presentation a more professional look. We sell round, rectangles, ovals and, my personal favorite, square...in every size available...in bulk and in retail packages. If you're not sure about the size that works for you, buy the retail package. It is a little more expensive but better than investing in a mistake. If you have any questions, e-mail Janyce.

Here we offer the small food service operator the ability to give a professional presentation. Where else can you buy french fry bags by the split of a case? We are not sure if buying grocery bags on line is cost effective in view of their weight and related shipping costs, but we offer them anyway to be of service to those of you who don't have access to the product in less than full cases and just may need that white 6 lb paper bag (perfect for a lunch project). In addition, you will find supermarket type T-Sacks at a good price, even for the splits of a case.  However, sometimes these bags "smile" and sometimes they "thank you". You take your chances! The Header Bags are 100 bags stapled to a handle that makes it easy to hang and dispense. Personally, I use them to pack my shoes in. Customers from all over the world have been begging me to bring in these "addictive" disposable sheets and split the cases for them. It being our self appointed job to allow the smaller food service operator to compete with the big guys, I investigated and sent for samples. (Robert tried them and is now addicated too!)
 
Well whatever you call them, finally you can buy them in small quantites, but I warn you that you too risk becoming addicted.
